Q1 What is "Electronic General Demand Note (e-GDN)"?
"Electronic General Demand Note (e-GDN)" is an electronic copy of the existing hardcopy mode of General Demand Note (GDN). If you are interested in receiving e-GDNs, you can opt for the e-GDN service and register your e-GDN Account. The GDN(s) will then be sent to your e-GDN Account rather than served to you by personal service or by post. You can log in your e-GDN Account to view and download your e-GDNs and related messages, attachments, payment information, etc.

Q2 Is e-GDN service available to all GDN issuing bureaux/departments (b/ds)?
No. The implementation of e-GDN service is by phases starting from late March 2010. You may refer to the List of Issuing Offices of the Bureaux / Departments providing e-GDN for the details of the e-GDN service now available from those participating b/ds. Only the users who receive GDNs from those participating b/ds will be invited to opt for receiving e-GDNs.

Q3 Do I need to pay for using e-GDN service?
No. You can enjoy the e-GDN service for free.

Q4 Can I view all of my government bills through my e-GDN Account?
You can view all the e-GDNs for the registered e-GDN services issued to you under the same e-GDN Account (i.e. the same Email Address). Alternatively, if you have registered your e-GDN Account via your MyGovHK Account / iAM Smart Account or have already linked up your e-GDN Account with your MyGovHK Account / iAM Smart Account, you can access your e-GDN Account via the MyGovHK portal, iAM Smart Mobile App or "Login with iAM Smart" in the Treasury’s Website (https://gdns.try.gov.hk).

Q5 How long will the e-GDNs be kept in my e-GDN Account?
E-GDNs in your e-GDN Account will be kept for three years after they are fully settled. You can also download the e-GDNs for your record.

Q6 What if I have enquiries about the e-GDNs, such as amount payable, due date, payment information, etc.?
You can contact the relevant e-GDN issuing office. Their contact number is shown in the top left-hand corner of the e-GDN. You may also find the email address and telephone number of the issuing office in your e-GDN Account (e.g. e-GDN Account Summary Page, e-GDN Details Page, etc.). Please refer to the Help Desk webpage for further details.

Q7 Am I restricted to use e-payment if I sign-up an e-GDN Account?
